From the beginning, I’ve tried to make sure that I have had pictures with all of my recipes because I know how important it is. It’s easy to dismiss a dish you’ve never heard of with ingredients you don’t like, but it’s hard to turn your head away from a picture that makes your mouth water. I know I’m much more likely to try something if I like what I see.
So that’s where foodgawker comes in. foodgawker is a site that allows users to upload their own recipes. The only criteria - you must have a breathtaking image of your dish. Not every recipe submitted is accepted ( unfortunately, I know this for a fact, haha ) so you know you’re getting some of the best recipes out there.
If you’re not sure what you want for dinner, just browse the main page and find something that looks good. If you’re looking for a certain type of dish, whether it be an appetizer, a main dish, or even desserts - just scroll down to the bottom of the page where you can choose to filter the recipes by category. Also, if you’re like me and you sometimes find more than one recipe you’d like to try but don’t feel like printing out 10 pages of recipes, you can register for an account and you can save your favorite recipes. No need for tons of print outs or bookmarks taking up tons of space, just save everything right on the site itself.
I’ve used this site lots of times and I have yet to be disappointed with any of the dishes I’ve tried. Definitely worth checking out.
