If you’ve never tried Nutella, you’re missing out. I actually had it for the first time a couple of years ago after taking a trip to World Market with some friends. The best way to describe it is a sweet spread that you put on breads, pancakes, waffles, or other pastries. It has the same texture as a creamy peanut butter would, but it’s made with hazelnuts and chocolate. A very good and unique flavor that goes well with lots of thing.
Now, if Nutella is nothing new to you then I’ve probably been boring you so far. Well, here comes the good stuff. I was over at foodgawker again and I found a great recipe for homemade nutella. The author over at Poires au Chocolat is also a college student who enjoys cooking in her spare time and her and her friends managed to come up with find a good recipe to make their own nutella. Check out the page for yourself.
I haven’t tried it myself yet, but I’m thinking you may be able to substitute plain chocolate with some other variety to have your very own custom sweet spread. Maybe a snickers, or a milky way, or something like that? Who knows! If any of you try it out, let me know how it turns out! Now, once you are done making your own spread, or buying the store bought stuff, you can head over to Ms. Adventures in Italy and learn 50 different uses for your new found favorite treat.
Lastly, don’t forget to check out World Nutella Day, celebrated yearly on February 5th.

How lovely of you! I have to say, though, I didn’t come up with the recipe - as it says just above it, I found it at: http://bakecookeat.blogspot.com/2010/05/homemade-nutella-hazelnut-chocolate.html
I’ll have to look at those 50 uses for Nutella…
